From Classroom to Career: How ZU’s Student Coach Training Program is Empowering Alumni
At Zayed University, the learning journey doesn’t end with graduation. For many alumni, the Student Coach Training Program has become a bridge between academic life and the realities of the workplace.
Developed to build leadership, emotional intelligence, and practical communication skills, the 8-module program has had a lasting impact on graduates. Alumni from past cohorts report greater confidence in leading meetings, managing challenges, and mentoring others. One alumna, now a project manager, applied goal-setting techniques to boost team performance. Another, working in education, uses active listening skills to create a more supportive learning environment.
For some, the experience has sparked a new career path. Several alumni have since pursued further qualifications toward becoming internationally certified coaches, citing the ZU program as their foundation.
In today’s job market, employers value professionals who communicate with empathy, adapt to change, and inspire others — qualities central to coaching. Whether leading teams, supporting colleagues, or building client trust, these skills apply across industries.
The next cohort begins 25 September. As one graduate put it: “It’s more than training — it’s a mindset shift. I left with skills I can use for life.”
For alumni, it’s a chance to grow, reconnect with the ZU community, and even explore a future in coaching.
