We are excited to spotlight Reem AlMansoori, a distinguished Zayed University alumna who has already established herself as a leader in global sustainability and climate action. With a degree in International Studies, specializing in Political Economy and Development, Reem has showcased exceptional leadership and innovation, earning her recognition on global platforms.

A Voice for Global Climate Action

Reem’s academic research on government intervention in sovereign wealth funds—focusing on case studies from the UAE, Norway, and Singapore—has been presented at prestigious international conferences, solidifying her reputation as a thought leader. Her dedication and impact led Masdar to select her as the UAE’s Youth Representative at COP29 in Baku, where she emerged as a key voice in shaping global climate policy.

At COP29, Reem delivered impactful proposals at the UAE Pavilion and Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative dialogue sessions. She introduced two pioneering projects:

  1. Pipelines of Hope – A solution to deliver desalinated water to conflict zones efficiently, addressing the challenges of mobile desalination plants.
  2. REBIRTH – A visionary app connecting factories with artists to transform industrial waste into sustainable art, driving forward the circular economy.

Through these initiatives, Reem demonstrated her innovative thinking and dedication to amplifying youth voices, ensuring young leaders play a critical role in addressing climate challenges.

Empowering Women and Youth on the Global Stage

As the UAE’s female youth representative, Reem participated in the International Women COP Conference: Women and Climate, where she proudly highlighted how UAE institutions, like Masdar, empower Emirati women to lead and innovate. Her efforts extended beyond presentations—Reem played a pivotal role in advocating for stronger youth involvement in future COP conferences, helping pass recommendations that will shape inclusive and impactful policymaking for COP30 and beyond.

Reem’s journey is a testament to the leadership, innovation, and dedication that Zayed University alumni continue to embody. Her commitment to driving meaningful change inspires both her peers and the next generation of leaders.
