The ZU Counselling Center and Department of Psychology are collaborating to offer you a training opportunity to qualify as a Mental Health Facilitator (MHF) Trainer. MHF was developed by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). The training equips participants with skills to Identify, in some cases, support and refer people with mental health needs. Participants will receive foundational knowledge regarding mental health, learn about diagnosis and practice basic counseling skills and trauma interventions. This training is facilitated through 3 levels: master trainer, trainer, and MHFs. As psychology graduate, you will be eligible to receive the training and become NBCC certified MHF trainers to teach the curriculum to social services organizations, hospitals, schools and more.
The course will be 16 hours over two days and will run twice this summer: 3 - 4th June and 16 - 17th June at Zayed University. The fee for this certified training will not exceed 2500 AED. Further details will be provided nearer the time and due to the limited availability of places interviews will be held to confirm suitability.
