Masserati: Zainab Abdulla - EY's Talent Ambassador

Zainab Ali Abdulla, ZU BA Alumni of 2019 from College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS), majored in Psychology #Proud_ZUAlumni

She has then completed her MSc in Global Mental Health from King’s College London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Currently, Zainab is a Business Development Associate at EY and she also volunteers for the UAE Mental Health Support Line.

I started at EY almost two years ago and it has been a rewarding experience with numerous opportunities. Working at EY gave me exposure into a field beyond my educational background and broadened my horizons. Working at a global company also allowed me to interact and work with people from across the globe and learn from their experience as well.

I think it is important for graduates to keep learning and seeking opportunities even after finding a job, whether that is within their company or externally. Since joining EY, I have been included in several acceleration programs held by DIFC, McKinsey, and Sheera. Each of these programs expanded my skills that i was able to apply in my current position.

Within EY, I have been involved in several rewarding projects. The first was the launch of the EY STEM application, an application to encourage high school girls to explore STEM subjects

Another initiative I managed and participated in was Project Hama, a program in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense to facilitate sessions on up-skilling girls in the military service.

Most recently, I was appointed as an EY Talent Ambassador. I’m very proud of this role because it allows me to represent EY at student career fairs and encourage students to apply at EY, which I truly believe is a great place to work, learn, and develop. As such, if any prospect graduates are interested in EY, please feel free to reach out to me by e-mail

As someone who always saw herself working in the government sector, ending up in the private sector was a huge change for me but I’m very glad it happened. There is so much I learned by working in the private sector, especially at a company that has employees across the globe, that shaped who I am today. Especially with the support of NAFIS, I believe the private sector is where to be for fresh graduates. It’s been a wonderful experience that has developed me for my future ambitions.
