Aisha Al Hamiz Al Suwaidi is a ZU Alumni of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a concentration of Health promotion and Health education #Proud_ZUAlumni.
Aisha has been awarded Masters in Public Health in the year of 2019 from the UAE University College of Medicine and Health Sciences and currently works as Licensing and Advocacy Manager at the Health Center in New York University Abu Dhabi.
She is an active member of the COVID-19 Response Team at the NYUAD Health Center following the guidelines of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in protecting the community against the coronavirus pandemic.
She has worked at NYUAD since 2014, promoting the Public Health Research Center’s signature study, a cohort study of 20,000 nationals – the UAE Healthy Future Study. She cultivated partnerships with hospitals and universities in Abu Dhabi. From 2011 to 2014, she held a position at Masdar Institute. As Academic programs officer she developed postgraduate degree programs in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and coordinated fellowships of distinguished students under the Masdar Fellowship program, Toyota Motor Company Scholarships, IRENA and ICT Fund Scholarships and served as member of the Graduate Education Committee, Academic Performance Committee, and Institutional Research Review Board.
"Zayed University was the birth of my career passion. The Natural Sciences and Public Health department have an excellent faculty, a good caliber of students and a strong scientific curriculum. As an undergraduate student I was able to cultivate learning and nurture belonging in the field. To date, I have published 7 scientific peer reviewed journal articles on various health topics. This would not have been possible without the experience and learning gained from studying at Zayed University" - said Aisha.
Aisha recently participated in a course organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MITXPro, that lasted Seven weeks, from May-June 2020. The title of Course was Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions. The course explored the latest trends in machine learning and helped build her skills in artificial intelligence, an area She has become very passionate about.
What inspire and drives Aisha's? Aisha's career over the past decade was in academic settings. The selection of institutions She joined was based on the research output. She strongly believed that universities focused on research pave the way to a bright future for the country and for the world.
