The need for professionally prepared and highly skilled individuals to create, develop, lead and sustain organizations large and small has never been greater. The opportunities are vast for those ready and eager to become actively and deeply engaged. The academic programs offered by the College of Business are designed to prepare students for these exciting challenges.
In 2011, the College of Business launched the Master of Science in Finance program with 22 admitted students. The program aims to equip participants with in-depth knowledge of the functions of finance and is designed to prepare ambitious recent graduates for successful management positions in banking, investment and asset management or a finance function in other non-financial corporations. It is especially valuable to those individuals who are seeking certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Risk Manager (CFRM) and Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
Specific objectives of the Master’s degree program are to instruct participants how to use the functions of finance to create and maximize value in commercial companies and societies, to equip participants with current knowledge and techniques required for undertaking the functions of finance with effectiveness, efficiency, and professional standards, and, to develop and promote strategic financial management skills and capabilities for professional success.
With Zayed University holding accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the College of Business and the programs it offers are recognized internationally and maintain the highest academic quality standards. Furthermore, the College holds accreditations from the UAE Ministry of Education and from the world’s leading business school accreditation body, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The AACSB accredits the top 5% of the world’s business schools – which accounts for only 700 business schools world-wide. These accreditations provide the highest recognition of the quality of curriculum, faculty and students.
Applications are now accepted for admission in Spring 2021. Admission is open to males and females of all nationalities. The key admission criteria include a four-year baccalaureate degree with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited university. In addition, applicants must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency to manage a challenging, fast-paced program.

Moo Sung Kim, PhD
Associate Professor in Finance and Graduate Program Coordinator (Master of Science in Finance)

Dr. Moo Sung Kim is an Associate Professor in Finance and the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Finance. Before he served as Graduate Program Coordinator, he was the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Business, Abu Dhabi campus for three years. He has taught courses for the Master of Science in Finance since 2015. His teaching expertise is portfolio management and asset pricing, corporate finance, banking and financial markets, and international finance. His main research area is international corporate finance and he has an extensive list of publications in academic journals. Prior to obtaining his PhD in Finance from Temple University (USA), he had several years of professional experience in the South Korean military and with a major advertising company based in South Korea. He received his BA in Communication from Korea University and his MBA in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University (USA).
