The College of Technological Innovation offers outstanding academic programs in cyber security at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The Master of Science in Information Technology (Cyber Security) program has established an excellent reputation, especially amongst digital forensics practitioners, both in the United Arab Emirates and GCC. The multicultural, research-active faculty members are highly qualified and experienced and are justifiably proud of the reputation the College has built.
Launched in 2008, the Master of Science in Information Technology (Cyber Security) program has contributed successful graduates who are working to improve the level of information security, internet crime prevention, and digital crime investigation on a national and international level. With today’s requirements for large digital footprints, organizations in virtually every industry are susceptible to increasingly elaborate and dangerous cyber-attacks. The program addresses these pressing threats by developing highly qualified technical experts with the skills and expertise necessary to address system security including data, network and infrastructure.
Graduates may expect to find employment opportunities as computer security experts in a variety of high-level positions such as information security management, cyber security specialist, digital forensic analyst and information security consultant, in both public and private sector organizations, particularly web-based services, financial institutions, information security audit/consultancy firms and government organizations involved in national security such as the Ministry of Defense, judiciary, and law enforcement agencies.
The program is jointly delivered on Zayed University’s campuses located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai by full-time PhD qualified faculty with established research portfolios and experienced industry security and cyber-forensic practitioners who combine a rich theoretical foundation with a strong laboratory component which delivery marketable skills to advantage graduates is today’s highly competitive job market. Course delivery is supported by state-of-the-art equipment, combining the best of breed in hardware and software platforms to provide graduates with a first-hand experience in the application of industry leading tools and techniques.
Applications are now accepted for admission in Spring 2021. Admission is open to males and females of all nationalities with preference for applicants currently working in the information technology or related fields. The key admission criteria include a four-year baccalaureate degree with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited university recognized by the UAE
Ministry of Education. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient English proficiency to manage a challenging, fast-paced program.

Dr. Mohammed Hussain earned his B.Sc. Computer Science from the University of Sharjah (UAE), MSc. Computer Science from Queen's University (Canada) and PhD from the School of Computing at Queen's University (Canada). His primary research interest is in the areas of security, privacy and trust, edge computing and educational data mining.
